Internal & External Communication Business Partner

Your tasks and responsibilities

As part of the Consumer Health (CH) Global Communications team, the incumbent functions on a director level as business partner for the Strategic Marketing Organization in regards of internal and external communication strategies. He/ she is responsible for:


  • Serving as the lead on developing a comprehensive functional communications strategy (internal and external) that enables the overall Consumer Health business and reputation goals, as well as the development of Strategic Marketing
  • Providing strategic communication counsel and support to the Chief Marketing & Digital Officer and the Strategic Marketing Leadership Team
  • In line with Consumer Health strategic direction, driving communications that are customer-minded and centered on driving value for our customers and consumers


Main tasks are:

  • Define, develop and execute an impactful external and external communications strategy for Strategic Marketing to support business and reputation efforts.
  • Drive cultural initiatives and change management, and overall engagement efforts in the function.
  • Provide issues support and expertise for topics specific to Strategic Marketing and CH brands
  • Partners with Strategic Marketing to identify opportunities for global campaigns/stories/content on Bayer CH and Corporate owned channels (internal and external)
  • Supports the development of multi-layered thought leadership program to build the reputation of Bayer CH as leaders in self-care
  • Represent Strategic Marketing involvement in the activation of the overarching CH narrative
  • Co-ordinate media training for senior Strategic Marketing spokespeople
  • Establishing strong relationships with the cross-functional teams of other Bayer divisions and the corporate communications team in Leverkusen and enhancing understanding and credibility of the CH business and ensuring excellence in functional communications
  • Provide leadership and enablement of culture that supports: customer centricity and global cohesiveness; speed of decision-making and empowerment; proactive approach to advocacy and communications; and attracting, developing and retaining best-in-class talent
  • Work across organizational boundaries and with key stakeholders outside the company deliver impactful and creative communication plans with input across multiple markets – with multiple languages


Who you are


  • Min. 10 years’ experience in communications
  • Expertise in translating business goals into impactful communication strategies
  • Strong business acumen to be able to support Strategic Marketing. Healthcare or FMCG industry experience is an asset
  • Strong focus on and proven experience with digital strategies and channels which deliver business outcomes
  • Ability to inspire trust and effectively influence stakeholders at a strategic level, advising senior management
  • High level of credibility, and strong interpersonal skills, in order to champion the role of modern communication with senior stakeholders
  • Strong team approach with a collaborative manner
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast moving environment with fluctuating and changing demands; dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to produce and finalize high quality work on an ongoing basis; tight regular deadlines
  • Able to work in a high pressured environment with short deadlines and dynamic pace
  • Tenacious and persistent with high personal accountability
  • Results driven and solutions oriented, with proven program management skills and focused on delivery to deadlines
  • Brand PR experience helpful
  • Fluency in English
